Sorrowful, Yet Always Rejoicing (2 Corinthians 6:10)

This rug is a prayerful tribute, a memorial, to a man whose life has passed on into Eternity...and to his loving, faithful wife, who yearns after him.
As Barry's life ebbed away, and I could think of nothing else except Jan's grief, her loss, and incredible courage, I HAD to turn those thoughts and prayers into something tangible...this rug was the result.

The colors represent their geographical location on Earth - wine country - but, more than that, their Heavenly Home...deep purples (royalty! Son and daughter of the King of Kings!) and greens (eternity!)

That middle strip was the foundation for the choice of other colors.

This poem accompanied the rug to its new home:

Jan, I prayed for you while I wove with love
And will continue to lift you to God above
Though there is nothing that can replace
The warmth and strength of his embrace.

I pray this rug beneath your feet
Will massage and comfort meet.
May it serve to remind you that I care
And, a degree of your grief and loss I share.

"Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy."  (John 16:22)

God bless you, Jan. My prayers continue.

Oh dear Leslie....that brought tears to my eyes, yet joy to my heart. I'm so thankful God brought you into my life.
God bless you and your rag rug ministry!
